Required skills/qualifications for the Research Scientist position include:
- Ph.D. degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Strong academic research track record focused on information retrieval, machine learning, data mining, graph algorithms, database systems, microeconomics or related fields.
- Publications in leading conferences and journals in one or more of the above fields.
- Ability to work independently that is also justified and guided by business opportunities.
- Experience with building systems at Internet-scale.

Required skills/qualifications for the Research Engineer position include
- MS/PhD in Computer Science with 3-5 years practical experience designing and developing large scale systems.
- Extensive experience with large scale programming projects, multithreading, backend systems architecture and building distributed systems.
- Proficiency in at least one (preferably two) of Java, C++, C and at least one (preferably two) of Perl, PHP, Python.
- Thorough understanding and practice in the use of object-oriented design patterns and data management systems, relational or object-oriented is essential.
- Must be a self starter with excellent communication and influencing abilities.
- Proven ability to develop novel software engineering solutions to complex problems using experience, skill set and background.
