Each of us have reached where we are today not just because of our talent and hard work, but also because of the great opportunities that we have been fortunate to come by. Why not provide similar opportunities to others, who are otherwise deprived of them? This is the thought that went into forming the Yahoo! Employee Foundation, India (YEFI). YEFI had a humble beginning with employees pitching in what they could. We donated what we collected to various NGOs. Now we have grown to a point where we have even set up a fully functional school for underprivileged children. Our partner for realizing this grand vision is Parikrma. Together, we have set up and currently run a school that is on par with any high quality school in the city. This school imparts education that will empower the children to compete on a level playing field. And possibly even be fellow Yahoos someday!
